Birthday wishes to Frs Martin and Marcel Okonkwo

Rev. Fr. Arch. Martin Chinedu Okonkwo and Rev. Fr. Prof Marcel Echezonachukwu Okonkwo was born on the 7th day of April, 1978 in the family of late Mr. Patrick Okonkwo and Mrs. Philomena Okonkwo in Adimoha, Arondizuogu, Ideato North Local Government Area, Imo State, Nigeria. They were 4th and 5th children of their parents respectively.

They started their primary school together at St. James /Community primary school in the year 1984 where they obtained their first school certificate, First School leaving certificate (FSLC)  in the year 1989 and after their primary school they proceeded to Bonus Pastors Seminary, Osina where they had their junior secondary school studies from 1989 to 1991 and later moved to St. Mary’s seminary, Umuowa the same year where they obtained their West African Examination Council (WAEC) AND certificate. After their secondary school they went to St. Joseph’s seminary Ikot-Ekpene and obtained their Bachelor of Philosophy and Bachelor of Divinity at Seat of Wisdom seminary, Owerri. And they were ordained Catholic Priests of Orlu Diocese on the 18th day of August, 2007 by His Lordship, Very. Rev. Dr. Gregory Ọchịagha (late)  the then catholic bishop of Orlu Diocese and in respect to this they were the first of Diocesan twin priests of Orlu Diocese.

Rev Frs Martin and Marcel has worked in many facets of Catholic missionaries, have written many books  individually both for spiritual and intellectual consumptions, they have touched many lives with their kind hearts and lives they live, the priest duo has proven that priests are truly the mouthpiece of the people by standing for the oppressed and poor masses, they currently reside in America doing the good works of the lord.

They always have the good of the people at heart and that made them to go any mile just to make sure that the people around them are happy and free of burden, they are not self centered. These priests of God has gone as far as using their elder brothers money to support the project of the parishes in which they are working under just to reduce the burden of levies imposed on indigent women in respect to church projects. They strongly believe in that particular verse of the Bible that says “alms giving takes away multitude of sins“ and that made them to give out all they have for the good and betterment of the masses.

On this special day of theirs been the 7th day of April I wish to join the host of angels to wish them all the best of this life, as they strongly believe and strive to make heaven, may that heaven never be far from them, may the Almighty God who has called them keep strengthening them, may he give them the grace that will be sufficient for them to end their race in this world and inherit heaven at last. May the good lord guide and protect them, show them the right way to lead his people and may all their secret heart desires come through in Jesus name. Amen.

Happy birthday to you Frs Martin and Marcel Okonkwo.

Happy birthday Fada Umuejima.
